We are excited to introduce a program that not only allows participants to explore careers in construction, but also supports them on a pathway to entrepreneurship. The career training program is scheduled to be available early 2026, but we're working now! Come back for updates and visit our EVENTS for the latest news!
Please reach us at info@beyondthehardhat.org if you cannot find an answer to your question.
IT'S FREE! Skilled trade training will be offered free of charge by Beyond The Hard Hat to program participants. Additional fees associated with advanced certifications, admission fees, and learning resources are not funded by Beyond The Hard Hat, but will provide scholarships and third party resources to support continuing education for our learners.
The career training program will prepare learners for careers in general and industrial construction. Pathways will include craft laborer, traffic control, and specialized skilled trades including carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical.
Program participants must be at least 18 years old or a senior enrolled in high school or transition program. Our programs are available to student and adult learners and do not require a high school diploma or G.E.D.
Individuals living in the metro Atlanta area are encouraged to participate in the program. Our training location has not been finalized, however, the anticipated location will be in DeKalb County, GA.
No, program participants are not required to pass a background check to participant in the program, however, to be accepted in the career training program, individuals must pass a drug screening.
Training will provide a broad range of curricula and industry recognized credentialing. In an effort to balance availability for individuals who may be employed full-time, evening courses will be offered quarterly, four times a week. Quarterly training blocks will be completed in 12 (twelve) weeks.
We are currently working on the training schedule for the program, however, evening classes will be offered on weekdays in three hour increments and every Saturday morning. Specific days and times have not been finalized but will be announced during the launch of the program. As an example, classes may be available Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm and Saturday from 9:00 am to 1:00pm for 12 (twelve) weeks. Participants will complete 160 hours per quarter.
Beyond The Hard Hat is currently awaiting approval of 501(c) 3 status. Once IRS approval is received, any contributions received while the application was pending may be treated as tax-deductible contributions and be retroactive to the date of formation. If the application is not approved, contribution would not be considered tax-deductible.
